The 100 Day Project 2023

So here we are April already, this year is flying over! So what’s new? I made a last minute decision to do the #the100dayproject this year, not knowing really if I could commit to doing something every day for a whole 100 days, but so far so good, 52 days in and I feel I have fallen nicely into a little routine.

I started with the idea of 100 days of simple landscape sketches but as time has gone on that has developed into a mix of small studies, sketches and full paintings mostly in watercolour with some acrylic thrown in here and there. Check out my Instagram or Facebook pages to see the whole project so far.

Update:

Well, I completed the whole 100 days. I loved having a reason to paint everyday, not that I need a reason, but it did definitely give me motivation to get my paints out when I was feeling a bit tired or it was getting a bit late etc. I had intended to carry on painting or sketching every day after the 100 days, but, you know how it is, without the incentive of the project, life soon gets in the way. It’s so worth it though for developing your art and skills. Now we are back to renovating at home, so art time is squeezed again, but once we are finished I aim to get a daily art practice going again, we will see….
