About
Contempory landscape artist.
Discovering the landscape and exploring nature through paint.
Like many artists I have been an artist all my life. My grandmother was an artist and some of my earliest memories are of drawing with her in her living room, sketching the ornaments on the dresser and her teaching me about getting proportions right.
At college I studied Art and Ceramics and then went on to a foundation course. But after that I side stepped, when I grew up I didn’t become an artist or follow an art related career, I became a hairdresser. For many years I ran my own salon, which I loved and now looking back realise, satisfied my creative side.
Then I met my husband, moved to Norway, had a baby and bought a cabin in the mountains. The dramatic landscape there is wild and wonderful and we spend much time hiking in the mountains and in the winter, cross country skiing.
It was one rainy, autumn afternoon in the cabin that I picked up a pencil and a piece of printer paper and began to sketch the view from the kitchen window …….
This was a spark that reignited my artistic fire, and it has only continued to grow.
